Some more sad news

Year 2007 seems to have started on a shocking note with CAT results on 2nd Jan. And now this legacy continues..Yesterday XIMB also decided to focus on sectionals n hence not to call me for gd/pi...okk i agree I always said I will never go to Bhubaneshwar even if the institute is damn good but I would have preferred me rejecting them to them rejecting me...What to do!!I guess I will land up at GIM,Goa only..but what fun that will be!Studying in Goa-WOW..Keeping my fingers crossed for the coming days.

Hello,

XIMB always has sectional cut-offs...its unfortunate that you did not meet the cut-offs...

Regarding rejection - XIMB follows a Selection Procedure and not a Rejection Procedure.. :D B-Schools look for the right kind of candidate that would fit in their requirements..and the selection is on the basis of past data available with the institute...

All the best for GIM! :)

Hi Vivek,

I think EVERY B school looks at selection, not rejection..XIMB is not an exception here. Can you pls clarify on the RIGHT CANDIDATE & PAST DATA part..A 87.33% in 10th,85% in 12th,65% in B.Sc with 83rd rank in state,68% in M.Sc n a rank of 8th in Univ...good extra curriculars..and 22 months of work ex in a market research firm DO build up to GOOD PAST DATA. There's nothing unfortunate in not meeting sectionals..others could,I couldn't n it's as simple as that. I presume you must be a XIMB student , so pls understand that I don't have any grudges for not getting selected. I also believe my blog doesnt have any offensive language abt the whole process. So not clearing the cut off in 1 section doesnt really make me the wrong candidate or allow others to speak about my past data. Yes selection parameters are different-THAT'S ALL.Whether that's right or wrong is left for open debate.

Lastly, thanks..I know I will make it to GIM.
